Dear Parents, staff and members of the wider community,
Consultation on the Proposed Hard Federation with St Joseph’s Infant School
We would like to thank you for participating in the recent consultation process to consider forming a hard federation with St Joseph’s Catholic Infant School. We received over 70 responses which we as a governing body reviewed and carefully considered in great detail the impact of this decision on our children, staff and community.
Whilst we recognised that there are huge benefits in becoming a hard federation, we considered the many equally important concerns raised through the consultation responses. We also considered the immediate crisis that the school and the community are facing in terms of the Covid-19 and agreed that it would not be appropriate to form a Hard Federation with the Infant School at this stage.
Over the last month, we have considered what the contingency plan would be if this were a possible outcome. I am pleased to confirm that Mr Alexander has agreed to stay on for a further term which will provide us with some stability and time to consider the medium to long term plan around the headship role of St Joseph’s Junior School. Working alongside the Governing Body it will also allow him to oversee the many challenges that will need to be faced when schools are able to re-open.
We wish all of you well through this very challenging and unprecedented time. God bless you and your families and have a lovely Easter Break.
Kind Regards,
Cheryl Graham (Chair of Governors)
On behalf of the Governing Body of St Joseph’s Catholic Junior School
